Lead Statuses Explained
What each status means and when to use it.
The lead pipeline
Outboundr uses a 6-stage pipeline that maps to a typical outbound sales workflow:
| Status | When to use |
|---|
|--------|-------------|
| **New** | Freshly scraped or imported — not yet contacted |
|---|---|
| **Qualified** | You've confirmed they have the problem and budget |
| **Proposal** | You've sent a quote or proposal |
| **Won** | Deal closed. Customer confirmed. |
| **Lost** | They declined, or went cold and you've closed the loop |
Updating status
Open any lead and click the status badge in the top section. Select the new status. Outboundr logs the change in the activity timeline automatically with a timestamp.
You can also update status from the lead table without opening the detail view: click the status badge in the row directly.
Bulk status updates
Select multiple leads using the checkboxes in the lead table. Use the bulk action menu to update status for all selected leads at once. Useful for marking an entire imported batch as "Contacted" after an outreach run.
Automations based on status
You can trigger automations when a lead changes status. For example:
- When status changes to Qualified → create a follow-up task for 2 days later
- When status changes to Won → add tag "Customer"
See the Automations docs for setup details.
